sneaky
You are very very sneaky Mrs. Smith (really your name is Arentz, but we will let the details slide... actually TECHNICALLY you are Ms. Smith). Now go to bed! :)

The Urge
I have the urge to pop my blister... it is just staring at me... waiting to burst open... to ooze with clear liquid - YUMMY!
I have the urge to eat anything sweet that appears in our house, which is why we RARELY EVER have sweets in the house - last night Kai, being the awful fiance that he is (HA!), made chocolate chip banana cookies... those too just stare at me all night along... I know they are there... and I have to make sure they still taste as good as they did 2 minutes ago - I am definitely a fat kid at heart.
I have the urge to run a marathon. I have wanted to run a marathon for years now and my friend AF just ran her first and completely inspired me to do one - LC you down?
I have the urge to move every 2 years -- it is a problem. We both get antsy at the 2 year mark. We lived in Walnut Creek for 2 years; Florence for 2 years and we have been in California for 2 years -- do you see a pattern? When do you settle down? Is it ok not to? I feel like we have to follow this "strict" way of doing things: get married, have kids, build the white picket fence in suburbia - but what if that is not what we want? We want more... we want to see the world; we want our kids to see the world; we want to be challenged; we want to feel awkward; to meet new people, taste new food; we want to breath different air, learn new languages....BUT I also think we can achieve all of the above without having to move every two years. We just need to be a bit more creative: do more research, find new ways of learning new things, do something new every weekend... It is too easy to get comfortable: to know what you know and to be okay with that... but for us that feeling is temporary and we both yearn for more eventually, which is what makes us a great team!
I have the urge to smell and taste everything - i just found a little hard brown thing in our bed - I tasted it - it was a small rock.
I have the urge to decorate. One of the things that I missed while living in Italy was having our own place to decorate as we wished. If I am bored, I will simply walk around rearranging. My problem is that I do not have enough patience to fully complete most projects. I might see something that I would LOVE to create (some do it yourself fun), but I know better than to start... because that thing that should be looking like a new upholstered ottoman is still lying sadly in the garage looking like a pile of wood and fabric.
Anyway, that's it... HOLLER!

MU HA HA HA HA HA!
Halloween was spent at Leth and Jared's house surrounded by friends and a best friend who would be leaving shortly for Milan (turd!).
The evening was complete with spider deviled eggs (thanks Leth) and candy corn cake (thanks Dina!).

I know my costume is kind of lame and unoriginal, but:
1) it was $12.99 at Rite Aid versus $60.99 at the Halloween store
2) an extra bonus: it covered my booty - Score! Actually, I lied -- the original skirt that came with it, BARELY covered my booty, so I wore my own shorts (how creative am I... riiight!)
3) extra extra bonus: it did not smell like rancid horse slash old hippie like this cowboy's outfit:
I definitely have to give a shout out to the best costume of all though... It comes all the way from across the pond... Florence, Italy... drum roll please.... and the award goes to .... Lindz!!!!!! - L you rocked it! Plus I was uber happy to see that MiKai made an appearance on the poster!... We should all be so nerdy!
The morning after Halloween, Leth, Mish and I had the "last" supper (actually lunch/breakfast thing) to bid Mish adieu (arriverderci would be more fitting, I suppose). Saying goodbye was tough, but knowing that she is LOVING Milan makes it all ok :)
And on the flipside, while one friend moved, two friends are moving back! Can't wait to be reunited with you two crazies!

60 years!
Happy 60th wedding anniversary to my 2 grandparents, Bob and Shan! On Friday night the family (minus Chi) celebrated in Walnut Creek with a YUMMY meal and lots of funny stories!

Cheers to 60 years -- your marriage is a testament to true love and an inspiration to those of us just "starting".
Please ignore my embarrassing (as Beck puts it "truck mud flapper pose") as I did not know whether everyone could be seen -- oops... what an embarrassment!

Grateful
Today I am grateful for (thanks Leth for the inspiration):
* My treasure of a fiance: He is so loving, sweet and lets me be me.
* My family: We are all so close and we got eachother's backs no matter what!
* My friends: near and far, I know that I always have them close... I am never lonely :)
* My grandparents: I have been blessed to grow up with all 4 grandparents. My grandpa Nick is proving time and time again that he is the strongest person I know as he beats every single obstacle that tries to get in his way - not only does he beat it though; he jumps over it and kicks it in the ass! I am so grateful for his stories.
* My gym classes: I know this sounds silly, but I LOVE my monday, wednesday, and thursday classes - they re-energize and center me!
* My house: I still cannot believe that I was able to buy a house last year - I love just sitting on the couch and looking across the room knowing that this is mine (and now ours).
* My sister: I love our weekly catch-ups - she cracks me up and makes me miss her even more!
That's it for now :)

At the airport
Sitting in Salt Lake City with 2 hours till the plane leaves. People watching.
Gentleman with teal blue polo - legs crossed - showing a bit too much underneath the shorts - tan - arm resting on the chair next to him waiting for a lovely lady to take a seat, i am sure - no wedding band. He looks like an Eric. Vacations in Hawaii.
Business man with glasses on - light reflecting off his glasses - writing on his blackberry - looking up - looks like a James. No wedding band. Looks tired probably from a big business meeting today. Likes Miami.
College student coming from a job interview - striped shirt - backpack - lives in Denver, Colorado (wow as I wrote this - he got up and went to the Denver boarding area -- creeeepy) - likes to snowboard. Probably a Mark.
Girl with glasses sat down next to James -- they should start talking about their glasses - hers are smaller than his - orange purse clashes against her green tank top - crossed legs (she is going to get varicose veins if she doesn't uncross them soon) - Amanda is reading a book - probably something from the twilight series.
Dude in a grey suit sits down and watches espn on the tv - he is probably a sports manager - drinking a large drink from BK (probably a diet coke) - Chewing gum at the same time - oddness - married to Brenda (stay at home mom to kelly and nick).
Couple across me - anna and jake - met in college - she was mormon, he wasn't - he is mormon now - she is studying to be a nurse - he works in marketing - he has a wedgie when he gets up - she pretends not to notice - she is pregnant with Jessy.
that's it for now :)

top honeymoon spots
Getting engaged meant that WE COULD NOW PLAN OUR NEXT TRIP! Even though it will have to be without our favorite travel buddies L+C (I suppose...). Infact that was one the first things I said after Kai proposed: "OMG we can plan a honeymoon!" - you can tell where my mind is (mind you, we were CURRENTLY on vacation! -- sickness?).So we are making a list of possible honeymoon places to ponder for a bit. We know that we want sun, sand, relaxation and a bit of adventure.
This is what we have so far:
Tahiti
Bora Bora
Mauritius
Maldives
Greece
Jamaica
Zanzibar
Anyone have anything to say about any of the above?
